How to have a natural beauty - my favourite tips and products!

I've always been a fan of natural beauty products and tricks. I don't know why but I have never enjoyed packing my face and body with super expensive products that I really don't know if they're going to work out on me. Whenever I can I try to go as natural as possible with my beauty regime.

Here are a couple of tips and tricks that I want to share with you. They work with me and they're also really easy to get and the best of all: most of them won't mess with your wallet!

1 - Drink water! Stay hydrated! There's nothing better then a hydrated body, first, it will help you with your overall health - you probably heard a thousand times but let me say it again, our body is made of 75% water, so you get the point, it's mandatory to drink at least 1,5l of water per day to get your body function the right way. Plus you will notice on your glowing hydrated skin! If you don't like water you could easily spice it up with a little cinnamon or mint leaves or drink tea! Green tea is amazing not only for your skin but it also prevents free radicals from aging your body.

2 - Eat healthy! Another cliche I know, but I'm going to get a little bit further on this. Try to eat as naturally as possible: whole foods, plant based like greens (spinach, kale, lettuce, collard greens, cucumbers) - try this green smoothie recipe - fruits of any colour (try to follow the rainbow here) peaches, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, tomatoes (yes tomato is a fruit) etc. Eat healthy fats like avocados nuts and seeds, they will not only help your brain (healthy fat is really important for your brain) they will also help with your skin, hair and nails (trust me on this, you will notice!). Eat fibre! Yes! Fibre is awesome for our gut health (going to the bathroom regularly is good for your body and prevent you from feeling bloated).

3 - Watch out your beauty products! The more natural the better! Avoid chemicals at all cost. For example, have you ever consider using coconut oil as your daily moisturizer? Or as your weekly hair mask? Or even as your makeup remover? Seriously, the minute you include coconut oil in your beauty regime you will be in love not only with the amazing tropical smell but with the way it will make your skin and hair shine! I always use it on my hair tips for extra care, specially during the summer when they tend to be more dry. It's also amazing to hidrate dry feet, so include it also on your weekly pedicure!

4 - Essencial oils like lavender, pepermint, argain are a must in my bathroom. They are perfect to add an amazing smell to your relaxing bath, the lavender is amazingly relaxing! I use the pepermint oil as an elixir dissolving 2 or 3 drops on a glass of water and the argain (morrocan argain oil) i use it to prevent skin cracks and sometimes as a makeup remover.

5 - Exfoliate weekly! I love to exfoliate my body once a week. It's good to remove dead skin and helps my skin to reach that glow we all love. I use a body salt scrub from Trader Joes's made from essencial oils (a mix of lavender oil, sunflower oil, grape seed oil, apricot and avocado oil) that is absolutely amazing, but you can always make your own scrub using for example some coconut oil, sea salt or sugar.

6 - Don't wash your hair every single day! I used to be the one who couldn't take a shower without washing my hair, and now I know that's why my hair had some really hard times keeping healthy, I just didn't make the time for it's natural oils do their job. Washing your hair every day will wash away the natural oils your hair produces to keep it healthy and shinny, so, the more you wash, the less shiny and healthy it becomes. Try washing 3 to 4 times a week and then reduce to 2. I know, it's hard but it's worth it! A little tip - If you're staying at home all day don't wash your hair!

7 - Shampoo and conditioning should be as natural as possible. I always try to go for vegan products (not tested on animals). I'm not vegan but I just think beauty products shouldn't be tested on animals (and if they are indeed tested on animals it's just because they are PACKED with chemicals, so you shouldn't use them anyway). Right now I'm using the Avalon Organics Shampoo, Nourishing Lavender and the Avalon Organics Biotin B-Complex Thickening Conditioner. As for body wash I'm using the Alba Botanica Very Emollient, Island Citrus Bath and Shower Gel. I bought them on Amazon, but you can get them in any convencional store. I also really like Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap products, they are natural, vegan and biodegradable and also really efective!

8 - As for your beautiful smile you should consider a biodegradable toothbrush. I found bamboo toothbrushes really comfortable and they are also completely eco-friendly biodegradable! I also love using natural toothpaste like Tom's peppermint toothpaste. It's made with natural ingredients and the price is good! (if your country doesn't have fluoride in tap water you should consider using a toothpaste with fluoride.)

And that's it! Hope you found my tips helpful and in case you want to know more about my beauty regime tricks and tips just send me an email! I would love to answer your questions!
